Future Evolving Leaders

Students are the center of our design

To purposefully engage with the world, students must first understand themselves by exploring their strengths, values, and goals. Our Global Learning Curriculum (GLC) supports this journey by encouraging students to use self-development as a source of motivation to define and achieve their unique vision of success. This process is guided by the GLC’s three pillars: individualized advising to provide tailored support, a holistic personal development plan to align aspirations with action, and a thoughtful experiential learning pedagogy to bridge the gap between theory and practice.

Mentors Matter

New Mind coaches act as cultural mediators, guiding students through self-improvement by navigating socio-cultural, academic, and personal challenges. They help create Personal Development Plans, address recurring issues, and provide support for unexpected dilemmas. With a low advisor to student ratio of 1:12, students receive personalized attention in every session.

Plans with Purpose

International students face unique challenges due to their diverse cultural and academic backgrounds. An individualized approach is key to navigating these differences. Working with coaches, students explore six key areas of personal development, gaining self-awareness and understanding of how their habits, learning styles, strengths, and cultural backgrounds impact their lives. With this knowledge and access to campus resources, they are empowered to thrive.

Experiences with Reflection

New Mind fosters student’s growth by co-designing and reflecting on high-impact experiences beyond the classroom such as service learning, projects, and field trips. By encouraging students to become culturally aware, engaged learners, we help universities fully recognize the value of their international student population.

Student Experience

Qibai

I chose IPP SUNY because I wanted to improve my English, and this will help me transfer to another university.

He

At IPP SUNY the professors and teachers will help you as much as they possibly can…professors will make time to help you, it’s pretty good!

Jin

The IPP Program gave me a lot of opportunities to communicate with people and to learn very broad subjects and classes. I now have a lot of university knowledge and when I go to a new university, I will be very used to any classes.

Bertha

When I transferred from the program to the university, IPP helped me in every step so I’m really happy with it!
