As the year ends, we’re celebrating the students and scholars who completed our programs—each with their own story of growth, grit, and purpose. Here’s a look back at what they achieved and what it meant to them.

As our program comes to a close, participants from across the globe came together to present the results of their research and projects—each one a reflection of personal and professional growth. From education and law to entrepreneurship and psychology, the topics were as diverse as the professionals themselves.

One standout presentation came from Bijiao Chen, who shared her leadership philosophy: that effective communication centers around emotional intelligence. Rather than simply giving direction, she emphasized the importance of leaders truly hearing their teams. Her message wasn’t just spoken, it was lived. Even while residing in the U.S., Bijiao’s consistent voice calls and attentive leadership helped her company grow in revenue despite her physical absence.

This program is designed for mid-career international professionals seeking new perspectives, professional development, and a deeper understanding of U.S. culture. Through research, cultural exchange, and public presentations in a second language, participants develop action plans for their home communities—and leave with lasting global connections.

Adjusting to a new culture is never simple—but it’s also a time of extraordinary growth. Seeing our students become more confident, responsible, and self-assured has been deeply rewarding. Hearing them say that UPP made the journey easier and even joyful, means everything.
